Morning: A Passion for Brazil
PHIL and DONYA KESLER spread their passion for missions in Brazil, thanks in part to our commitment to putting love in action through the Cooperative Program. The Keslers’ team recruits, mobilizes, trains, and facilitates the sending of Brazilian missionaries to the field in Brazil or in other countries. Through an initiative called Churches Multiplying Churches, Phil and his team also partner U.S. churches with people groups in Brazil who have little access to the Gospel. Join Phil and Donya as they pray that, through U.S. church involvement and national efforts, they will see the unreached peoples of Brazil come to faith in Christ, as well as see new churches planted and multiplying rapidly.
South America is the focus region for the 2008 Lottie Moon offering theme “GO TELL the story of Jesus.”
Psalm 24:1-4 The earth and everything in it,
the world and its inhabitants,
belong to the LORD;
for He laid its foundation on the seas
and established it on the rivers.
3 Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD?
Who may stand in His holy place?
4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who has not set his mind on what is false,
and who has not sworn deceitfully.
Evening: Showing Love Though Actions
STEPHEN EDDLEMAN was participating with his three teenagers in a World Changers project when he answered God’s call to missions. World Changers gave him the opportunity to see how showing love through actions often provides opportunities to share Christ’s love with others. Today, Stephen serves as a national missionary working with World Changers. Our commitment to reaching people by working alongside sister Southern Baptist churches helps Stephen as he organizes logistics for World Changers and Power Plant projects, both of which provide hands-on missions experience for students. Join Stephen and his wife, SUSAN, as they pray for safety and boldness of witness for all participants.
STATEMENT: The psalmist affirms that God’s ownership is established through creation. We did not create the world, nor do we own anything, but we are responsible to care for God’s world. In doing what we can do, we have a channel for honoring God and serving other people.
